ITEM BACKGROUND: The New Drill Rig will replace an existing 9-year old unit (0940/7026) and is to be utilized for drilling sign post holes in the Middle & Lower Keys. Request for quotes were sent out to six vendors capable of assembling this unique vehicle build. Only two vendors responded with quote submittals. Even after a deadline, attempts to inquire the other vendors for quote submittals resulted with no responses. The lowest quote from Duval Ford Fleet Sales in the amount of $98,627.00 (see attached) utilizes competitive pricing under the Florida #FSA18-VEL26 chassis / FSA18-VEH16.0 PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Budget approved FY 2019 Vehicle/Equipment Replacement for Roads & Bridges Department.
