ITEM BACKGROUND: Three bids were received at the bid opening held October 28, 2014:
Giannetti Contracting Corporation $556,078.60, Charley Toppino, & Sons $542,476.38 and Douglas N.
Higgins, Inc. $464,462.00. Upon review of all bids, staff and TY Lin International recommend award
to low bidder Douglas N. Higgins, Inc.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On 10/16/13, the BOCC approved a Task Order with
TY Lin International for engineering services and on 09/11/2014, the FY2015 Roads & Bridges budget
was adopted which included funding for this drainage improvement project.
