12/21/1998 Final Hearing Cont'd I MINUTES OF THE MONROE COUNTY VALUE ADJUSTMENT BOARD Continuation of Final Hearing Value Adjustment Board Wednesday,January 21, 1998 The Continuation of the Final Hearing of the Monroe County Value Adjustment Board convened at 10:00 a.m.,on the above date, at the Harvey Government Center at Historic Truman School, 1200 Truman Avenue,Key West. Present and answering to roll call were Monroe County School Board representative Pat Labrada; Commissioner Wilhelmina Harvey and Chairman Mary Kay Reich. Absent were Mayor London and School Board representative Andy Griffiths. Also present were Ruth Ann Jantzen, Deputy Clerk; Ervin Higgs, Property Appraiser; Stuart Schurr, Assistant County Attorney;John Dent, Attorney,representing the Property Appraiser; Special Master James Flenner; and County Staff. Motion was made by Mr. Labrada and seconded by Commissioner Harvey to approve the Minutes of the January 13, 1998 Value Adjustment Board Meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made by Commissioner Harvey and seconded by Mr. Labrada to approve the Special Master's recommendation pertaining to Petition 102-1997, Harold Bromm,Jr. Motion carried unanimously. Ronald Felton, Certified Florida Evaluator, informed the Board that as a result of action taken by the Board on Petition 204-1997, to make an adjustment based upon a certified survey being given to the Property Appraiser by the property owner,the Property Appraiser reduced the assessment from $290,664.00 to $239,428.00. Motion was made by Commissioner Harvey and seconded by Mr. Labrada to certify the Real Property Assessment Roll incorporating all changes due to action of the Value Adjustment Board, in the amount of$7,513,625,737.00 Motion carried unanimously. *Pursuant to Florida Statute 193.122,this is to be considered the Second Certification of the 1997 Real Property Assessment Roll by the Value Adjustment Board. Motion was made by Commissioner Harvey and seconded by Mr. Labrada to certify the Tangible Personal Property Assessment Roll as submitted by the Property Appraiser to the Value Adjustment Board in the amount of$341,038,010.00. Motion carried unanimously. * Pursuant to Florida Statute 193.122,this is to be considered the Second Certification of the 1997 Tangible Personal Property Assessment Roll by the Value Adjustment Board. -2- There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
