10/21/1991 Organizational Meeting Organizational Meeting Value Adjustment Board October 21, 1991 Grand Jury Room A Meeting of the Value Adjustment Board convened at 10 : 30 a.m. on the above date at the Monroe County Courthouse Annex, 500 Whitehead Street , Key West, Florida. Present and answering to roll call were Commissioner Earl Cheal, Commissioner Jack London, and Commissioner John Stormont. Also present was School Board Member Clarence W. Phillips, Danny L. Kolhage , Clerk; Randy Ludacer , County Attorney; and staff from the Clerk ' s and Property Appraiser ' s Offices. Clerk Danny Kolhage , addressed the Board concerning hourly rates charged by the Special Masters , recommending that the hourly rate be left the same as it has been for the last several years and that the Masters be paid for work done only at the hearings. The Board agreed by acclamation. The Board briefly discussed those applicants to the position of Special Master . Motion was made by Commissioner Cheal and seconded by Commissioner Stormont to accept all five applicants to the position of Special Master , Jim Flenner , Raymond Bishop, John Conlin, Richard Padron and William Pitt, and to recognize that each applicant is qualified. Roll call vote carried unanimously. The Board discussed those petitions received without notarization or signature. Motion was made by Commissioner Cheal and seconded by Commissioner Phillips to allow the Clerk to provide the thirty-day notification for correction of inconsistencies concerning those petitions received without notarization and signature. Roll call vote carried unanimously. Motion was made by Commissioner Cheal and seconded by Commissioner Phillips to accept the letter in lieu of petition from petitioner Jeanne B. Truby. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made by Commissioner London and seconded by Commissioner Stormont to turn the matter of the letter received from Sunshine Key Association over to the County Attorney for determination. Roll call vote carried unani- mously. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. •
