Exhibit A—Scope of Work(12115.07)
Monroe County
The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport
Exfiitration Trench and Pond Modifications
SCOPE OF WORK
The Florida Department of Transportation(FDOT)maintains two(2)dry detention ponds on
Airport property at the Florida Keys Marathon international Airport(MTH)that treat runoff from
Overseas Highway(US 1). One pond is located on the west end of the Airport and the other on
the east end of the Airport. The FDOT ponds are located within easements granted to the
LO
FDOT by Monroe County, the owner and operator of MTH. Jacobs recently completed a study
evaluating three options to reduce or eliminate the footprint of the pond on the west end of the
Airport. Reducing or eliminating the footprint of this pond would free up land to become
available for aviation-related development. After evaluation of the three options, the
recommended option included reducing the west pond size along with the installation of a new
exfiltration trench. The exfiltration trench will serve as new outfall location for stormwater runoff
thus allowing the west pond size to be reduced. Jacobs will provide professional services to
develop construction plans for the implementation of this recommended option.
