As required by the State's boundary amendment process, the County committed to serve as the land manager for those lands where no state or federal manager was available. In 2007, the County entered into a land management lease (Lease 4549) with the State for the initial group of parcels purchased by the State pursuant to the boundary amendment. Since 2007, the County has approved Amendments 1 & 2 to the lease to include additional parcels purchased by the State. The proposed amendments (Amendments 3 & 4) add additional State-owned parcels to the existing management lease. Funding for any potential land management activities (invasive exotic plant removal, trash cleanup, etc) will come from State exotic removal funding and County permitting fees paid into the Environmental Land Management and Restoration Fund.
