Professional Services" between Monroe County, Florida ("Client") and McFarland Johnson Inc.
("Consultant"),dated February 15,2017("Agreement"). The Agreement is incorporated herein and forms
an integral part of this Task Order.

HERTZ BUILDING DEMOLITION PLAN AND PERMTITING COORDINATION
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The project is the demolition of a vacant commercial building located at 3491 South Roosevelt Boulevard, in Key
West, Monroe County, Florida.
SCOPE OF WORK
McFarland Johnson, Inc. (MJ or CONSULTANT) will provide the following professional services and deliverables
under this contract as related to the demolition of the vacant commercial building.
TASK 1.0 PROJECT MANAGEMENT,ADMINISTRATION&COORDINATION MEETINGS
This task includes project coordination with EYW Staff on project requirements,data availability,and coordination
of work to complete the project in a timely manner.This task will include the following meetings/workshops;
• One (1) day site visit to review existing building and site conditions, meet with Monroe County and to
discuss permitting requirements,and meet on-site with utility companies to discuss and coordinate utility
disconnection/capping.
• One (1) on-site meeting to review building demolition and utility disconnection plans, discuss findings of
discussions with AHJ and utility companies and review permitting requirements.
• One (1) Conference call/Skype meeting to review final demolition plans, incorporating comments from
review meeting with EYW.
TASK 2.0 PROJECT DEFINITION
2.1 Compile Existing Data
The CONSULTANT will compile existing data that is germane to the project, and that is readily available from the
EYW. Existing data will be reviewed to determine its suitability. Existing data may include utility locations,existing
layout plans,site plans,topographic surveys, hazardous materials reports and previous project documents.
2.2 Code Review&Permitting Requirements
The CONSULTANT will review the 2017 Building Codes (Building, Fire, Mechanical, Plumbing Existing Building) as
adopted with amendments by the State of Florida and the 2014 Edition of NFPA 70—National Electrical Code.The
CONSULTANT will review the City of Key West requirements for obtaining a Full Demolition Permit.

2.3 Existing Conditions Documentation
The CONSULTANT will perform a visual inspection of existing conditions at the project site. This will include
adjacent facilities, projects and site conditions that may impact the project or other airfield/airport facilities,and
documentation of existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing features of the existing building and connections
to public utilities.
TASK 3.0 DEMOLITION PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
The CONSULTANT will utilize the information obtained in Task 2 to develop plans and specifications for the
demolition of the existing building. Plans will include the following items:
• Building Demolition Plan
• Utility disconnection/demolition plan
The demolition plans and specifications will be coordinated and reviewed with EYW staff prior to moving forward •
with estimates of cost. Upon approval of the proposed demolition plan an opinion of probable cost will be
prepared based on the data obtained in Task 2 and the items outlined above.
Upon completion of the demolition plans and specifications, permitting documents will be submitted to Monroe
County Building Department and coordinated as required.
ITEMS NOT INCLUDED
The project tasks,schedule and budget detailed in this scope of work assumes the following items are not included
in this scope of work and will be provided by EYW or others:
• Utility investigations other than those obtained during the utility survey obtained during site survey (to
be performed under a separate contract)
PROJECT SCHEDULE
The project tasks outlined previously are scheduled to be completed according to the following timeline:
• Tasks 2&3: Findings in a draft form to EYW staff for review within 12 weeks of NTP
PROJECT BUDGET
The labor rate time and materials budget,including sub consultant services and expenses,for this project is
$25,754,as outlined in the project fee breakdown in Attachment A.This budget amount will not be exceeded
without prior authorization from EYW.

Based on the information provided, FDOT concurs with Monroe County's request. Only expenses incurred on or
after the date of the fully executed JPA/PTGA and otherwise eligible under the Agreement shall be reimbursed to
Monroe County Airports—Key West International Airport.
