Lindsay,
What I want to speak about is the brutal working conditions at Bayshore. It has been a year since
there has been a full staff at the facility and the work of 6 people has fallen on 3 employees. There
was a 6 month period where the County website, the ONLY way to apply for a job at Bayshore
would show the position, but there was no way to apply as the application link didn't work. We
brought it to managements attention numerous times but no one seemed to care. Until I wrote to the
Commissioners a month ago, there was no action on this. There have been 13 new hires that have
all quit due to the miserable schedule. Sometime days, sometime nights sometimes both up to 70 0
hours a week and days off are never consecutive. This past week, by wife worked on Sunday, then
Monday "off' but back to work at midnight. That is not a day off. It is the same for the other 2
employees.
I see that they are trying to recruit new employees, buy I have seen this before and after they start (s
the job, they have all quit. This is an impossible. The only reason that any of the current employees
have stayed on is that they do not want to lose their pensions. This is inhumane and the 2
management is horrible. They are killing my 64 yr old wife. At the minimum, she has no life. 2
Denied vacations, denied attendance to our grandsons birth. She asked to be covered for a few U)
hours, denied.
I will not mention individual names, but the management at this facility is unprofessional, sorely
inept and ruining lives.
I want to get my Wife out of there, She has been singled out as the "bad guy" and aside from the
miserable schedule is now subject to daily scrutiny and treated rudely. A model employee..always
on time, neat, kind, a highly educated healthcare professional and always presentable. The
residents love her...isn't that the point? 100% retaliation for my letters which she did not know
about. Her official retirement comes up in November. She does not want to lose her VERY hard
earned pension. I would get her out of there now, but no one can give me a straight answer on how
to do that.
