NORMA KULA
35 YEARS OF SERVICE AWARD
Celebrating her 35" year, Norma reigns as Monroe County Public
Library's longest-serving employee. She began her career in 1984 as
a Library Assistant at the Islamorada Library. After holding several
positions within the library system, she was selected in 2000 as the
Director of Libraries.
Under Norma's leadership, the library has expanded its vision,
service, and community engagement. Through her direction, the
library has introduced internet access, eBooks, streaming video,

online cultural artifacts, musical events, language learning, 3D 0
printing, and a multitude of programs and services embraced by W
LO
the Keys community.
Norma has been honored at the state level, appointed as one of
three public library representatives to the Library Council of the
Florida Department of State. She also reviews and ranks federal
grant applications for Florida library projects and initiatives.
Norma has brought devotion and compassion to each of her 35
years with Monroe County. Her dedication is inspiring to library
staff and colleagues. Thank you, Norma for 35 years!
