TASK ORDER
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING SERVICES
BETWEEN MONROE COUNTY AND PEREZ ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT,INC.
FOR REPLACEMENT OF ALUMINUM GANGWAYS AND STAIRS
AT MONROE COUNTY TRANSFER STATIONS
In accordance with the Continuing Contract for Professional Engineering and Surveying Services,
made and entered on October 21, 2015, as amended on April 19, 2018, October 17, 2018, and August
21, 2019, between MONROE COUNTY, hereinafter referred to as the "County" and PEREZ
ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT, INC., hereinafter referred to as "Consultant" where
professional services are allowed for miscellaneous projects in which construction costs do not exceed
One Hundred Thousand 00/100 Dollars ($100,000.00) or for study activity if the fee for professional
services for each individual study under the contract does not exceed Ten Thousand and 00/100
Dollars($10,000.00);hereinafter referred to as the"Agreement"the parties enter into this Task Order.

WHEREAS, the County demolished and removed the old transfer station offices and replaced them
with new modular office units at the transfer stations located at 11180 County Road 905, Key Largo;
68521 Overseas Highway,Long Key; and 740 Blimp Road,Cudjoe Key; and
WHEREAS,the project is nearing completion and the County desires to replace the existing wooden
gangways and stairs with aluminum gangways and stairs at all three weigh stations;and
WHEREAS, the Consultant proposes to visit each site to determine conditions and create a complete
set of construction documents for the replacement of the gangways and stairs at all three sites;
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants set forth below, the
parties agree as follows:
1. In accordance with Article II, SCOPE OF BASIC SERVICES, of the Agreement, the
Consultant will perform services as described below:
Consultant shall visit each transfer station site to determine the existing conditions and create a
complete set of construction documents for the construction of the Aluminum Gangways and
Stairs. The proposed improvements are as follows:
1. Replace wood gangways(Cudjoe and Long Key).
• Replace with aluminum structures of similar size and location.
2. Replace wood stairs(Card Sound)
• Replace with aluminum structure of similar size and location.

3. Provide railing
• As required at gangways and stairs.
• Along retaining wall of scale pit.
• Railing along scale that is to remain is not included in this scope.
4. Construction documents shall utilize existing concrete foundations when possible.
In addition, Consultant shall visit the site to obtain necessary field measurements, coordinate
and review proposed solutions with County staff, and prepare construction drawings and details
indicating the improvements required to address the items above for ADA requirements.
2. COMPENSATION.
In accordance with Article VII paragraph 7.1.1 of the Agreement, the County shall pay the
Consultant a lump sum fee of Six Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars and 00/100
($6,350.00)paid on a percent complete basis for the following phases:
• Preliminary Plans for Monroe County Review $3,000.00
• Upon Completion of Construction Documents $3,350.00
$6,350.00
All other terms and conditions of the Agreement remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, each part caused this Task Order to be executed by its duly authorized
representative.
