DESCRIPTION OF WORK The assessment and report will provide the following: Article A—Structural Assessment Literature Review: Review the proposed baggage conveyance system for attachment and loading requirements per the manufacturer's literature. Coordinate with the manufacturer's engineering representatives and Key West International Airport planners as required to gather all necessary details for this review. Thoroughly review the existing construction documents of the bridge area and ensure all required information for the analysis is available. Structural Analysis: Build a structural analysis model of the existing bridge with all code-required loading and perform an evaluation in accordance with Florida Building Code, Existing. Structural model shall include global analysis of the truss system and local analysis of all roof, floor, and deck members that are directly or indirectly impacted by the expansion of the baggage conveyance. Services for Article A will be provided under a lump sum basis. Article B—Evaluation Report Jacobs will compile results of the structural assessment into a report which will discuss the methodology of the analysis, summarize the findings of the analysis and discuss existing capacity of each structural element under consideration, and will highlight any elements that may require retrofit for the baggage conveyance expansion. In the event that no retrofits are required, Jacobs will issue a signed and sealed letter summarizing the work that has been performed and stating that the bridge has sufficient capacity to resist the loading associated with the expanqion project. Services for Article B will be provided under a lump sum basis. QUALIFICATIONS AND ASSUMPTIONS For the purpose of providing a stipulated fee amount, this proposal has been based on the following qualifications and assumptions: • A site visit will not be performed to evaluate the as-built condition of the structure. As-built documents will be provided by the owner. Page of 2 • The analysis will not evaluate or provide a disposition for any structural elements beyond those directly or indirectly impacted by the expansion project, • In the event that retrofits are required, construction documents for such work will not be provided by Jacobs within the scope of this work. Since the structural adequacy is not yet known, it is not possible to accurately evaluate the required effort to address retrofits. If this work is required,Jacobs will submit a follow-up proposal for the scope of issuing construction documents with any associated construction administration services for retrofit work, -see 'Future Work' section below. • Other services not described in the scope of work are excluded. Items identified as not included or limited in the scope of services can be provided or expanded upon as additional services under a separate agreement or supplemental to this agreement. REFERENCES The client will need to provide the following documentation to Jacobs before commencing with our scope of work. • As-built documentation of the existing facility. COMPENSATION See attached spreadsheet. SCHEDULE We anticipate completion of the deliverables in accordance with the following schedule: The overall duration of this effort will be as noted below: A. Structural Assessment: 15 business days from agreement authorization B. Report Phase: 15 business days from completion of the structural assessment. FUTURE WORK If the outcome of the Article A and B requires structural modifications to the existing structure in order to properly support the new baggage transport, those modifications will not be designed as part of the proposed scope of work. Jacobs will provide updated estimated fee based on the findings of the Scope to prepare construction documents detailing the necessary modifications and repairs. If no modifications are required, it is anticipated that the Report will be sufficient to allow the manufacturer to install the baggage transport system, The manufacture may need to provide their own shop drawings and other plans to secure permit for the installation. Any items needed other than the report for permit, including review of any shop drawings or construction administration work would be subject to additional services contract. 11,ige 2 of 2
