RESOLUTION NO. 123A-1998
A RESOLUTION BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS APPROVING AN EXEMPTION FROM THE
NONRESIDENTIAL PERMIT ALLOCATION SYSTEM PURSUANT
TO POLICY 101.3.4 OF THE YEAR 2010 COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN REQUESTED BY THE MARINE MAMMAL CONSERVANCY
FOR PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS PART OF LOTS 14 & 15,
P.F. JENKINS PLAT, SECTION 22, TOWNSHIP 61 SOUTH,
RANGE 39 EAST, KEY LARGO, MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
MILE MARKER 102.2.
WHEREAS, the Building, Planning and Environmental
Resources Departments have approved a permit application filed
by the Marine Mammal Conservancy for property described as
part of Government Lots 14 & 15, Section 22, Township 61
South, Range 39 East, Island of Key Largo, Monroe County,
Florida, Mile Marker 102.2.
WHEREAS, the proposed development involves the construc-
tion of a cooler, trailer, and a shower/locker facility; and
WHEREAS, Policy 101.3.4 of the Year 2010 comprehensive
plan, allows the Board of County Commissioners to exempt feder-
ally tax-exempt nonprofit organizations from the nonresiden-
tial permit allocation system after a finding by the Planning
Commission that such activity will not adversely affect the
hurricane evacuation objectives of the comprehensive plan; and
WHEREAS, Marine Mammal Conservancy Inc. has requested
an exemption from the nonresidential permit allocation system;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MONROE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, that the preceding Findings of Fact
support their decision to APPROVE the request filed by the
Marine Mammal Conservancy Inc., a federally tax exempt institu-
tion, for an exemption from the nonresidential permit alloca-
tion system.
