RESOLUTION NO. 168 -1997
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, STATING THAT THE POLICY OF THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IS NOT TO BILL PERSONS
WITH SPECIAL MEDICAL NEEDS WHO MUST BE EVACUATED BY
AMBULANCE DURING EMERGENCY CONDITIONS AND TO SEEK
REIMBURSEMENT FROM FEMA OR OTHER GRANT SOURCES,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA that
Section 1.
The Board hereby adopts the following policy regarding the billing of
persons with special medical needs who require ambulance transportation during emergency
conditions:
Monroe County Emergency Medical Services will not
bill a person with special medical need for ambulance
transportation to sheltering, but will diligently pursue
reimbursement from FEMA and/or other appropriate sources,
