AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Confirmation of County Administrator's appointment of John
Travers, with M.T. Causley, Inc. as Interim Building Official, under the direction of the Division of
Growth Management.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Jerry Smith, Building Official has resigned as of June 27, 2014. The
county has contracted MT Causley to fulfill on-call, as needed permitting, inspections, and Plan
Review Services. Part of the contract includes Building Official Services at a cost of$72.50 per hour.
Monroe County Code Section 6-55 indicates the County Administrator with the approval of the Board
of County Commissioners shall designate the Building Official.

BOCC approved the contract for professional services with MT Causley at their regular March 19,
2014 Meeting
