AGENDA ITEM WORDING:
Closed session of the Board of County Commissioners to discuss collective bargaining with the
Teamsters, Local 769.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Management and the union met for a bargaining session on June 9, 2014.
Labor and management have two more sessions set up: July 15 and 17, 2014. The negotiating team
representing the employer is requesting this session in order to provide a status update and get
direction from the Board re: salary and benefits offers for a new contract.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: In April 2014, the BOCC voted not to ratify the
collective bargaining agreement with the Union, as a result of which, the parties returned to the
bargaining table.
