price this out, so DLP or looking for another contractor to do the work. Braswell will
not bid, DLP is still looking for contractors to give them estimates. 01/22/04 — Still

clarifications: 1) Location of phone outlet in RM 107. 2) PR says (2) rooms get
sound deadening and IB 21 &23 refer to (5) rooms getting sound deadening.

No. 19 Concrete Landing at Door 32:
Pricing for removal of existing concrete landing and installation of new concrete
ADA compliant ramp.
No. 20 Steel Reinforcing of Support Angles:
This PR is a request for pricing related to the work to reinforce steel angle irons at
roof according to Atlantic Engineering's report attached.
H. OLD BUSINESS

45. Steel angle irons at various locations are in question structurally. Cease all work
with and around angle irons until the integrity of said angles and beams they are
attached to can be verified. Monroe County Engineer requested Bert Bender
advise his firms' structural engineer of this situation for their immediate attention.
Atlantic Engineering has been on site and reviewed. Waiting to hear from County
Engineer. Bert Bender received a response from Dave Koppel, the County
Engineer on 12/03/2003, with a follow-up report by Berry Rikard. Bert Bender
forwarded the report to Atlantic Engineering for their response. 12/11/03 -Atlantic
Engineer has report and will respond. 12/18/03 — Bert Bender has forwarded
Atlantic Engineering's report and calculations to the County Engineer for review.
Awaiting response from Monroe County Engineer. 01/15/04 Berry Rikard has
written a response, and Bert Bender has forwarded this to Atlantic Engineering for
their review and response. 01/22/04 — Bert send a letter to Dave Koppel on
01/20/04. 01/29/04 - Bert will issue P.R. for pricing. —02/12/04— PR#20 issued -

57. Bill Sprague asked what cable system will be provided, data, tv, phone,
communication? 02/05/04 Contractor does rough-in according to specifications,

Window in Rm 301 is 9 ft o.f.f., soffit is spec'd for 8 ft. Raise the soffit or eliminate
it? Answered 01/28/04 — Install in soffit similar to others. (CLOSED)
E. IB'S:
23 Modifies and expands the s gpp of IB #21. Discussion about this IB with Kevin
Groner in answer to his questions regarding the door details to include sound
deadening board. Detail of thickness at hollow metal door jamb. 12/18/03—The
order of magnitude pricing estimate from DL Porter is $17,614.30. Engineering
Services are approximately $ 1,000.00 and will be billed on an hourly basis as per
the architect's contract. Don Miner and Bill Sprague will determine the acceptance
of the scope and notify the architect to issue a Proposal Request. 01/08/04 —
Engineers are revising drawings for DLP to give firm pricing from. 01/22/04
Received, going out of Bert Bender's office today as a Proposal Request to DLP.
Kevin Groner noted that walls @ detectives have upper cabinets, lowering the
intermediate partitions from 7-0 to 5-0 feet would delete these. Did we want to do
this? No, Matthew Stratton will notify Bill Sprague. 01/29/04— Discussion of sound
deadening board layers. Apply either side of stud wall? or can (2) layers be applied
to once side? Locations of layers determined in discussion with Bill Sprague.
02/06/04 Bert Bender has issued PR#18, 02/04/04, he will revise it, and date
02105/04, one item regarding numbers on IB 21 was incorrect. — (OPEN)
F. SUBMITTALS:
• Flooring Upcoming: DL Porter has submitted to Bert.
• Cabinetry Upcoming: DL Porter is awaiting some cabinet submittals.
• Color Boards Upcoming: DL Porter will send colors for color items to be selected
and Bert will discuss options and create color boards for Monroe County approval.
Approx. 2 months. Bert has all materials from DL Porter and will be submitting to
Monroe County shortly. 12/18/03 — Color boards will be presented to the County at
an up coming meeting with Bert Bender regarding Keying for the doors. 01/08/04 -
Meeting in KW w/ Jenny Bell-Thomson for color boards. Keying will be held
separately— Bert will schedule. 01/15/04 "Rift Red Oak— 901 Burgundy" is
acceptable to Monroe County. Color boards have been turned over to the Public
Defender's Office for their color selections. Due back to MCCM 01/21/04. 01/22/04 —
In progress. 02/05/04 Boards are at Clerks Office, I will pick them up, and bring
them to the meeting next Thursday to turn over to Jenny Bell-Thomson so

This IB was issued in regards to a list of items received from Bill Sprague to be
priced out by contractor. An IB was issued before a PR, given Bert wanted to
ascertain feasibility of these items by estimate before paying the engineers to

Monroe County does not. He already had Sheriff's Roth approval on this. They
discussed some clarifications in reference to interrogation room and interview room
at the detectives area, and the need for one-way glass, the necessary lighting to ^4
accompany this and clarifications on heights for the partitions at the detectivesk
offices. Bill Sprague will send written clarification for Bert Bender.
22. Porte Cochere Footings: Were discussed in the field, see Bert Bender's Field
notes, item 3.

G. PROPOSAL REQUESTS and CHANGE ORDER REQUESTS COR'S
No. 5 Item 1 —Windows:
Provide pricing for new windows. Item 1A to follow, requesting pricing for
impact resistant windows and giving a credit for hurricane shutters. Gary Loer gave
Bert a possible window to review and asked if it would meet specifications for
impact resistance. Bert stated he was familiar with this unit and it meets Dade Co.
protocol and the Specifications. Steve Kanthack stated it is approximately a (6)
week lead time for windows. On 11/5/03 Bert Bender has had discussions on this
topic with Dent Pierce and Dave Koppel. Bert submitted a report to Dave Koppel
on 11/12 and is awaiting a response. Awaiting Monroe County acceptance.
Monroe County is waiting on DL Porter to supply the window submittal for
review, before moving forward with windows. Bert Bender has requested
window submittal from DL Porter - (OPEN)
