NARRATIVE
CHRIS CANE
10 YEARS OF SERVICE
Lieutenant Chris Cane began his service with Monroe County on August I 'l , 2004 as a
Firefighter/EMT. Since joining the Monroe Fire Rescue team, Lieutenant Cane has
become a Florida State certified Fire Officer 1, Live Five Fire Training Instructor, and
Pump Operator.
In September of 2009, he was promoted to Lieutenant with Monroe County Fire Rescue.
In June of 2010, he attained his Florida State Paramedic certification. He is currently
serving as a Lieutenant at Fire Rescue Station 17 in Conch Key. During his career, he
has also been involved in fire apparatus specification review and currently serves on
Monroe County Fire Rescue's labor management committee. Lieutenant Cane spends
many hours out at the Monroe County Fire Academy training and mentoring new hire
firefighter trainees and fire academy recruits. His personnel file contains numerous
accolades, awards, and certificates of continued education and training.
Lieutenant Cane has been and continues to be a valuable asset to Monroe County Fire
Rescue and this community. We are proud to honor him with this length of service
award.
