ITEM BACKGROUND: Surplus of a 2000 17-Foot Boston Whaler and associated equipment was approved to be removed from inventory at the May 20, 2020 BOCC meeting (Item K.1). Notice of Request for Competitive Solicitations was advertised in local newspapers in the month of June 2020 including the Key West Citizen, Keys Weekly and News Barometer. Sealed bids were opened on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. The Bid Tabulation Sheet for the surplus item is attached and sets forth the highest bidder for the surplus unit to be awarded. If the highest bidder fails to complete the purchase transaction after reasonable notification of the award and time limits in which to respond, then authorization to award to the next highest bidders until final disposition of the surplus unit shall be completed in accordance with Monroe County Purchasing Department guidelines.
