Roosevelt Boulevard to Key West International Airport (AIRPORT). The proposed access road is located on the west side of EYW adjacent to the current Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office and one-hour parking lot and will require reconfiguration of the impacted parking areas and commercial transportation staging area. The AIRPORT provides storage for an explosive disposal unit onsite and would like to modify the access road area design to provide a location for a new enclosure for it. The enclosure would be a concrete pad of sufficient size and thickness to support the unit's weight, be fenced and gated, and have screening landscaping on the north and east sides. SCOPE OF WORK The CONSULTANT (McFarland-Johnson, Inc.) will provide the following additional professional services under this scope of work as related to the above described project including the design of the explosive disposal unit storage pad within the project limits. 1. Administration/Project Management The following items of work shall be completed under the Administration/Project Management task: A. Modification and submission of construction documents and construction permit application to Monroe County for the unit storage pad. 2. Final Design(100%) A. The CONSULTANT will develop a preliminary layout and design showing the proposed unit storage location and construction for review and approval by the OWNER. B. Incorporate the unit storage design into the Final Design plans for the Access Road. C. Incorporate the unit storage pad into the overall drainage and stormwater design for the Access Road and parking areas. Key West International Airport Access Road—Phase 2 McFarland Johnson Design Amendment C—Scope of Services PSO 2019-06C D. DESIGN ASSUMPTIONS The following assumptions form the basis of this scope of work. Any changes to the following assumptions will be considered and change in project scope and may require a change in the project budget: • Based on discussions with the Owner, the unit dimensions are 8 feet wide by 16 feet long, and it weights approximately 25,000 lbs. • The pad to store the unit should be surrounded with a fence with an access gate and shielded on the north and east sides with landscaping. No utilities are required. Space should be provided inside the fence to allow the door to the unit to be accessed and opened.
