Big Pine Key Fire Station 08/28/2020 TASK ORDER FOR
PROFESSIONAL SURVEYING SERVICES
FOR THE BIG PINE FIRE STATION
In accordance with the Continuing Contract for Professional Engineering and Surveying Services,
made and entered on October 21,2015,as first amended on April 19,2018,and as second amended
on August 21, 2019, between MONROE COUNTY, hereinafter referred to as the"County" and
FLORIDA KEYS LAND SURVEYING LLC, hereinafter referred to as "Consultant", where
professional services are allowed for miscellaneous projects in which construction costs do not
exceed One Hundred Thousand 00/100 Dollars ($100,000.00.) or for study activity if the fee for
professional services for each individual study under the contract does not exceed Ten Thousand
and 00/100 Dollars ($10,000.00); hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement"the parties enter into
this Task Order.
This Task Order is effective on the 7,fldt day ofr Vyt aft , 2020.
WHEREAS,the County-owned parcel that the Big Pine Fire Station is situated on is adjacent to
the State of Florida owned parcel that was previously operated as the Big Pine Road Prison,and
WHEREAS,there are multiple encroachment issues between the County-owned and State-owned
parcels and the County desires to correct these issues by creating a new, updated County-owned
parcel.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants set forth below,
the parties agree as follows:
1. In accordance with Article II, SCOPE OF BASIC SERVICES, of the Agreement, the
Consultant will perform services as described below:
Consultant shall provide a Specific Purpose Survey which creates a new County Parcel at
the existing Big Pine Key Fire Station and the Big Pine Key Road Prison Property location,
including two newly authored legal descriptions.
Work will include:
• Determine the existing boundary of the County Fire Station property as it exists now.
• Create proposed boundary for the"New County Parcel".
• Create a current, Geo Referenced Aerial Ortho Image of the subject property
utilizing drone technology. Said Image would document the current site conditions
for reference and future design purposes.
• Field locate improvements encroaching on the current boundary lines, including but
not limited to fences, structures, edge of pavement and solid surfaces. Said

improvements will be held to incorporate size and location of proposed new
boundary.
• Spot elevations across the"New County Parcel"
• Elevations will be in feet and based on the North American Vertical Datum of 1988
(NAVD 88).
• Horizontal coordinates will be referenced to grid north, based on the 2011
Adjustment of the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83/201 1), of the Florida
State Plane Coordinate System (Transverse Mercator Projection), East Zone.
• Final deliverables to include 3 hard signed and sealed copies of the survey as well as
a digital PDF and AutoCad file of the survey. (AutoCad, Civil 3D 2015)
2. In accordance with Article VII, Paragraph 7.1.1,COMPENSATION,the County shall pay
the Consultant a lump sum fee of Six Thousand Eighty and 00/100 Dollars ($6,080.00)
paid upon completion of the work and receipt and acceptance of the survey.
3. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement as Amended remain in full force and
effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, each party caused this Task Order to be executed by its duly
authorized representative.
