A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE FINAL RESIDENTIAL
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION, DISPOSAL AND
RECYCLING RATES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
2020-2021
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY,FLORIDA,as follows:
Section 1.The Board hereby adopts the following final rates for Collection of Residential
Solid Waste:
1. For each single family home-$196.40 per annum;
2. For each mobile home-$196.40 per annum;
3. For each multi-family unit-$196.40 per annum.
Section 2. The Board hereby adopts the following final rates for Disposal of Residential
Solid Waste:
1. For each single family home-$157.95 per annum;
2. For each mobile home-$157.95 per annum;
3. For each multi-family unit-$157.95 per annum.
Section 3. The Board hereby adopts the following final rates for Recycling of Residential
Solid Waste:
1. For each single family home-$52.65 per annum;
2. For each mobile home-$52.65 per annum;
3. For each multi-family unit-$52.65 per annum.
Section 4.The Board hereby adopts the following final rates for Fiscal year 2020-2021:
1. For each single family home-$407.00 per annum;
2. For each mobile home-$407.00 per annum;
3. For each multi-family unit-$407.00 per annum.
Section 5.The Board hereby directs the Monroe County Clerk to transmit this executed
Resolution to the Monroe County Property Appraiser and Monroe County Tax Collector.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,Florida,
at a special meeting of said Board held on the 3rd day of September 2020.

Notice is hereby given that the County Commission,Monroe County,
Florida will conduct a virtual public hearing to consider reimposing
solid waste service assessments for the Fiscal Year beginning October
1,2020,against certain improved residential properties located within
Monroe County and the City of Marathon, Layton and Key Colony
Beach to fund the cost of solid waste collection services,facilities and
programs provided to such properties and to authorize collection of such
assessments on the tax bill.
The virtual public hearing will be held at 5:05 p.m.on September
3,2020.at the following virtual address:httR;::/1Nar

proposed assessments. All affected receiving public comment on the
e% owners have aappear virtually at the hearing and to file written objections wiitthhthe
County Commission within 20 calendar days of the date of this notice.
Pursuant to section 286.0105,Florida Statutes,notice is given that if a
person decides to appeal any decision made by the County Commission
with respect to any matter considered at the hearing, such person
will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a
verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon
which the appeal is to be made. In accordance with the Americans
with Disabilities Act,persons needing a special accommodation or an

The total annual solid waste assessment revenue to be collected
within Monroe County and the City of Marathon,Layton and Key Colony
Beach for the upcoming fiscal year is estimated to be$12,900,000 The
rate of assessment for the upcoming fiscal year shall be$407.00 per residential dwelling unit. The maximum rate of assessment that can be
imposed in the fiscal year commencing October 1,2020 and future fiscal
years shall be$407.00 per residential dwelling unit.Copies of the legal
documentation for the assessment program will be made available upon
