Resolution 156-1998 Community Services RESOLUTION NO. 156 -1998 A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 4(b) OF RESOLUTION NO. 374-1990 IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE TANK CAPACITY OF A FIXED BASE OPERATION (FBO) FUEL FARM TO 10,000 GALLONS; AUTHORIZED AN FBO TO, IN THE ALTERNATIVE UTILIZE A SELF- CONTAINED REFUELING SYSTEM: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the capital investment needed for a fuel farm of 20,000 gallons (the present FBO minimum standard) for small site FBO's is too great to ever provide a reasonable economic return for that FBO site; WHEREAS, it is also desired to authorize self-contained refueling systems; WHEREAS, it is desired to authorize the smaller size fuel farm and self-contained refueling system as soon as possible so that the new tenant at the former Flight Department site at the Marathon Airport may commence its tenancy and begin operations; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 4(b) of Resolution No. 374-1990 is hereby amended to read: b)( 1) Fuel Tank Farm and Refueling Vehicles. Provide and maintain a minimum fuel tank farm storage capacity of 10,000 gallons each of Jet A aviation kerosene base fuel and aviation gasoline. The storage facilities shall meet all applicable local, state and federal safety and permitting requirements and shall be sited in a location acceptable to the Commission. The FBO shall operate and maintain in good condition an adequate number of aircraft refueling vehicles for each type of product sold. Each refueling vehicle shall be of adequate volume and pumping capacity to sufficiently service those aircraft normally using t~ airport. E ~ CD (2) Self Contained Refueling System. If an FBO so desires, ~~ml install and operate a self contained refueling system with a minimu~~a~ capacity of 4,000 gallons in lieu of a fuel farm. The design, operating ~ur@ and metering system of such an installation shall comply with all apPlic~abc~ state and federal safety and permitting requirements, as well as ~~n<a requirements. This Resolution will taken effect after the promulgation required in Section 332.08(2)(b), Florida Statutes.
