At the September 20, 2000, Board of County Commissioner's meeting the Board granted
approval and authorized execution of the following Quit Claim Deeds:
Transferring ownership of, and responsibility for, County roads, bike paths and bridges
located within the City of Marathon to the City.
Transferring ownership of, and responsibility for the following property within the City of
Marathon to the City: 33rd Street boat ramp and restroom, Aviation Boulevard boat ramp,
Marathon Yacht Club property, Jaycees Building, and Teen Center.
Transferring ownership of, and responsibility for certain County owned parks and beaches
located within the City of Marathon to the City: Waloriss Park, Jesse Hobbs Park, and Sombrero
Beach Park.
Enclosed please find the original Quit Claim Deeds for your handling. Should you have
any questions please do not hesitate to contact this office.

QUITCLAIM DEED
THIS DEED, made this 7-0AA day of , 2000, by the Board of County
Commissioners of Monroe County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida and party of the
first part, to the City of Marathon, a municipality incorporated in the State of Florida and party of
the second part, whose address is PO Box 500430, Marathon, FL 33050.
WITNESSETH that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the
assumption of jurisdiction and responsibility over the property conveyed herein does hereby
remise, release and quitclaim unto the said party of the second part forever, all the right, title,
interest, claim and demand which the said party has in and to the following described real
property lying and being in Monroe County, Florida, to wit:
Marathon Yacht Club currently considered lying in the new municipality of the City
of Marathon as described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same together with all and singular the appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise pertaining, and all the estate, right, title, interest, lien, equity
and claim whatsoever of the said first party, either in law or equity, to the proper use, benefit and
behoof of the said second party forever.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
MARATHON YACHT CLUB
A parcel of land being a portion of the `Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce Site" as
described in the attached legal description, said parcel of land being more particularly
described as follows:
COMMENCE at the intersection of the East line of said Government Lot 3 of Section 10,
Township 66 South, Range 32 East and the centerline of said US Highway No. 1 (State
Road No. 5); thence S 74 degrees 20 minutes W along said centerline of US Highway No.
1 for 2642.55 feet; thence N 15 degrees 40 minutes W for 50.00 feet to an intersection
with the Northerly right-of-way line of said US Highway No. 1; thence S 74 degrees 20
minutes W along said Northerly right-of-way line for 200.00 feet; thence N 15 degrees
40 minutes W for 440.00 feet; thence N 74 degrees 20 minutes E for 84.00 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING of the hereinafter described parcel of land; thence S 74 degrees
20 minutes W along the last described line for 84.00 feet; thence N 15 degrees 40
minutes W for 111 feet more or less to the mean high water line along the Northeasterly
shore of the existing yacht basin; thence meander northwesterly along said mean high
water line and along the southwesterly face of the existing concrete dock for 300 feet
more or less to the Northerly terminus of said concrete dock; thence N 74 degrees 20
minutes E for 84 feet more or less to an intersection with a line bearing N 15 degrees 40
minutes W from the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence S 15 degrees 40 minutes E along
said line for 411 feet more or less to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
