At the September 20, 2000, Board of County Commissioner's meeting the Board granted
approval and authorized execution of the following Quit Claim Deeds:
Transferring ownership of, and responsibility for, County roads, bike paths and bridges
located within the City of Marathon to the City.
Transferring ownership of, and responsibility for the following property within the City of
Marathon to the City: 33rd Street boat ramp and restroom, Aviation Boulevard boat ramp,
Marathon Yacht Club property, Jaycees Building, and Teen Center.
Transferring ownership of, and responsibility for certain County owned parks and beaches
located within the City of Marathon to the City: Waloriss Park, Jesse Hobbs Park, and Sombrero
Beach Park.
Enclosed please find the original Quit Claim Deeds for your handling. Should you have

QUITCLAIM DEED
THIS DEED, made this Z0,4 i day of , 2000, by the Board of County
Commissioners of Monroe County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida and party of the
first part, to the City of Marathon, a municipality incorporated in the State of Florida and party of
the second part, whose address is PO Box 500430, Marathon, FL 33050.
WITNESSETH that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the
assumption of jurisdiction and responsibility over the property conveyed herein does hereby
remise, release and quitclaim unto the said party of the second part forever, all the right, title,
interest, claim and demand which the said party has in and to the following described real
property lying and being in Monroe County, Florida, to wit:
Jaycees Building currently considered lying in the new municipality of the City of
Marathon as described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same together with all and singular the appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in anywise pertaining, and all the estate, right, title, interest, lien, equity
and claim whatsoever of the said first party, either in law or equity, to the proper use, benefit and
behoof of the said second party forever.

JAYCEES BUILDING
A parcel of land in a part of Government Lot 1, Section 9, Township 66 South, Range 32
East, on Key Vaca, Marathon, Monroe County, Florida and being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
COMMENCE at the intersection of the West line of Government Lot 1 of Section 94,
Township 66 South, Range 32 East and the northerly right-of-way of US Highway No. 1
for a distance of 2729.49 feet to a point; thence at right angles and northwesterly for a
distance of 200 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of the parcel of land hereinafter
described; then at right angles and southwesterly for a distance of 100 feet to a point,
said point on the dividing line between the Marathon Chamber of Commerce property
and the property of the US Navy Pumping Plant; thence at right angles and
northwesterly along said dividing line for a distance of 150 feet to a point; thence at
right angles and northeasterly for a distance of 100 feet to a point; thence at right
angles and southeasterly for a distance of 150 feet back to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
