Resolution 002-1960 V RESOLUTION NO. 2-1960 - Secondary Roads WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, desires to construct a causeway, including a bridge, connecting the intersection of First Street and Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Key West, Florida, across Garrison Bight to a point on Palm Avenue near the City Sump Station, and surface that part of Palm Avenue from the City Sump Station to Eaton Street and Eaton Street to its intersection with Whitehead. Street and that portion of Whitehead Street from the intersection of Eaton Street to the Monroe County Court House, said streets being in the City of Key West, Florida, and WHEREAS, said Board desires to pay for the construction of said project out of its Secondary Road funds, and WHEREAS, there is a traffic congestion in the City of Key West, Florida, and construction of this project will greatly alleviate said condition, and WHEREAS, said Board desires to expedite this project as an emergency measure, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Florida State Road Department be and it is hereby authorized to construct a causeway, including a bridge, connecting the intersection of First Street and Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Key West, Florida, across Garrison Bight to a point on Palm Avenue near the City Sump Station, and to surface that part of Palm Avenue from the City Sump Station to Eaton Street and Eaton Street to its intersection with Whitehead Street and that portion of Whitehead Street from the intersection of Eaton Street to the Monroe County Court House, said streets being in the City of Key West, Florida, and to pay for the same out of Monroe County, Florida, Secondary Road Funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this Reso- lution to the Florida State Road Department with the request that prompt action be taken to construct the above project.
