Resolution 007-1960 ;_ STATE OF FLORIDA COUNTY RESOLUTION ON USE OF 80% SEVENTH CENT GAS TAX AND OTHER SECONDARY ROAD FUNDS RESOLUTION #7-1960 - SECONDARY ROADS YEAR 1960 COUNTY MO1aOE WHEREAS, under Chapter 26.321 of the Extraordinary Session of 1949, known as the "Secondary Road Assistance Act of 1949" and Section 339.08 Florida Statutes of 1959, the State Road Department will receive 80% of the proceeds of this county's pro-rata share of the Seventh Cent gasoline tax, to be used as prescribed by regulations of the said Department within this County, as requested by resolution of this Board of County Commissioners and approved by the Department for one or more of the following purposes: Construction, reconstruction, maintenance and repair of State roads and bridges, the lease or purchase of bridges connecting State roads, the acquisition of rights-of-way for State roads, and the reduction of road and bridge indebtedness; and WHEREAS, The State Road Department baa requested this County Board to recommend the purpose for which, and the roads on which, this County's 80% surplus gas tax and Federal Aid Secondary allocations should be spent for construction and improvement; and WHEREAS, the State Road Department requires this information so that it may be considered in the preparation of the Annual Budget of the State Road Department; and WHEREAS, this Board conferred with the State Road Department concerning the projects to be selected and the specifications with respect thereto, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT The State Road Department is here- by requested to use such funds for construction (including rights-of-way acquisition, surveys, maintenance, etc,) of the following roads: DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT OR USE OF SECONDARY ROAD FUNDS FOR 196 0 1. Fill right-of-way U. S. Highway No. 1 (State Road 5), Stock Island, Monroe County, Florida. 2. State Road 5-939 - Bridge on Perky Road 3. Resurface Flagler Avenue from White Street to Roosevelt Boulevard and First Street from Roosevelt Boulevard to Flagler Avenue, Key West, Monroe County, Florida. 4. Pave Thomas Street from Fleming Street to Truman Avenue and include in said project sidewalks and adequate drainage and pave Emma Street from Angela Street to Truman Avenue and include in said project sidewalks and adequate drainage, Key West, Monroe County, Florida. 5. Construct roads on Ocean Shores Drive and Ocean Front Drive, Key Largo, Monroe County, Florida. 6. Construct a road from Spanish Harbor Key to No Name Key, Monroe County, Florida, to include a one-span bridge not to exceed twenty-five (25) feet with a clearance of ten (10) feet. 7. Construct road in Bay Point Subdivision, Saddlebunch Key, Monroe County, Florida. 8. Construct road on Barry Avenue, Little Torch Key, Monroe County, Florida, 9. Construct road on Unnamed Old County Road. on Big Pine Key, Monroe County, Florida. 10. Construct road on Big Pine Key extended from Southeast Point Road, Big Pine V Key, Monroe County, Florida. 11. Construct a causeway, including a bridge, connecting the intersection of First Street and Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Key West, Florida, across Garrison Bight to a point on Palm Avenue near the City Sump Station, and surface that part of Palm Avenue from the City Sump Station to Eaton Street and Eaton Street to its intersection with Whitehead Street and that portion of Whitehead Street from the intersection of Eaton Street to the Monroe County Court House, said streets being in the City of Key West, Monroe County, Florida. 12. Construct several boat ramps in Monroe County, Florida (sites previously furnished to State Road Department). 13. Resurface all of Fifth Street on Stock Island, Monroe County, Florida, as shown on MacDonald's Plat of Stock Island, Plat Book 1, page 55, Public Records of Monroe County, Florida. • DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT OR USE OF SECONDARY ROAD FUNDS FOR 1960 Continued 14. Construct road on Sagerts Drive and Colson Drive, Cudjoe Gardens, Second / Addition (Plat Book 4, page 159), Cudjoe Key, Monroe County, Florida. 15. Construct a road from Summerland Key to Crab Key, including a one-span bridge, Monroe County, Florida. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the methods and standards employed by the State Road Department for determination of major improvement features, including the types and widths of pavement, and the Department's standard specifications for construction are concurred in and approved by this Board. It is requested: That the Department will consider the projects in the order listed above insofar as practicable, but not to the extent of retarding the whole program; that the termini of the projects as described in the resolution and shown on the acompanying map, rather than any estimate of funds therefor, shall control the Department's allocation of funds; that this resolution shall remain in effect throughout the year; and that after the current year the recommendations of this resolution shall constitute a continuing improvement program for the County, unless changed by a subsequent annual resolution.
