Resolution 016-1960 RESOLUTION NO. 16 -1960 - Secondary Roads
WHEREAS, as a result of damage done by the recent hurricane to
Gistnty roads and rights-of-way in Monroe County, Florida, said roads
and rights-of-way have been made impassable and at present present a
dangerous health menace, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, desire to spend Secondary Road Funds in the rehabilitation and
cleaning of said roads and rights-of-way, and
WHEREAS, said Board deems the situation an emergency requiring
immediate action, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the State Road Department be and
it is hereby authorized to allocate and expend Fifty Thousand Dollars
($50, 000. 00) out of Monroe County, Florida's Secondary Road Funds for
improvement, rehabilitation and cleaning of County roads and rights-of-
way in Monroe County, Florida, and to immediately take action to accom-
plish the clearing of said roads and rights-of-way.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that in the event the
sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50, 000. 00) is not a sufficient amount to
accomplish the intent and purposes of this Resolution, the said State Road
Department is hereby authorized to expend, if necessary, an additional
Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25, 000. 00) out of Monroe County, Florida's
Secondary Road Funds to accomplish the purposes of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of said Board be and he
is hereby directed to forward certified copies of this Resolution to the
State Road Department of the State of Florida for appropriate action.
