Many sectors of the community are involved in the Coalition, including the State Attorney's Office, the Juvenile Justice System, the Department of Children and Families, Keys to Be the Change, other non- m profit agencies, faith based and youth organizations, concerned individuals, and health and human service entities. 0 Given the gravity of Human Trafficking and its devastating impact on lives and communities, it is important that we raise awareness and address this issue in our community. Over the last several ._ months the Coalition has focused on trainings and has been very successful in reaching many in the community to raise awareness about Human Trafficking.January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month. This can be an opportune time to not only increase community awareness and provide education, but to focus and prioritize Human Trafficking as an issue our community is concerned about e= and will work to address. Through our partnership with the South Florida Human Trafficking Taskforce and CITRUS Health Network in Miami, we have access to experienced and skilled Human Trafficking trainers. The CITRUS Health Network, has a contract through the Department of Children and Families to provide child c, welfare services, resources and support to the Florida Keys. Over the last several months, they and DCF have facilitated the referenced training opportunities for groups and agencies in Monroe County. With this excellent resource at our disposal, we would like to invite you to participate in a Human Trafficking training to increase your knowledge of the issue. Perhaps this training can occur during the month of January as part of Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The Florida Keys Human Trafficking Coalition will be happy to provide further information and assist in setting up a training.
