Since, she has attended after hours training exercises and drills to learn how the public information office works. When the County activated for CGVI -19, her director Cynthia McPherson allowed me to borrow her from the Code Department to answer the County C VI -1 9 hotline calls and assist the office. Five days a week, Gabi answers an average of 50 phone calls a day averaging in length from 3 minutes m to 5 minutes. She has a calm rapport with callers, some of whore are hostile at times. Each week, she is in the first spot in the call rotation, meaning she takes the most calls. The hotline staff has dealt with stressed, frustrated, crying, and screaming people. Gabi, and the rest of the hotline staff, answer these calls, listen, and help with kindness even to the rudest and most difficult callers. This does not fall into anyone's job description, yet she and the others have gone above and beyond when it comes to difficult situations. Cabi has also taken initiative in learning the backend of the County website to create and update the "Frequently AskedQuestions" and has brainstormed creative ideas for the County's social media, including creating various graphics, videos, and photo presentations we have implemented into our messaging, website, and Joint Information Center. She's incredibly creative and has a great eye for detail and can break down complicated projects into workable steps. In addition, she signed up to start taking her emergency management courses to learn more about how to help people in the future. I wholeheartedly nominate Gehl for this award. Department Head/Assistant County Administrator Comments: Ga riela has been with the Code Compliance Department since July of 2018. From the first day, she has strived for excellence in her daily work and developed protocols to assist the department in becoming more efficient. She answers our main phone line in the Marathon office registering complaints with a Packet Pg.21 B.1.a AAA Instruction 4000.12 Enclosure(1) helpful, calm manner whip balancing all other administrative duties in the office. She is asked frequently to translate Spanish for those who have English as a second language in our department and others within the building. She has taken on added responsibilities by assisting our Liaison to the Special Magistrate with the monthly code hearings. She tracks all cases, assures proper noticing, and prepares any postings if needed. Ga ri la is a definite asset to the county. It is my pleasure to recommend briela Henri for the county service award. epa ,lent Head/Assistant County Administrator Signature: m 0 0. Packet Pg.22
