The grant match is funded by Passenger Facility Charge Fund 406 (PFC 417). ITEM BACKGROUND: The objective of this project is to separate FBO traffic from the Airport's passenger traffic to reduce traffic congestion in the terminal area. It will also improve safety by having fuel trucks and other large vehicles use the new access road instead of the main Airport entrance/exit on Faraldo Circle. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On April 15, 2020, the BOCC granted approval for the Mayor and/or Director of Airports to execute FAA and FDOT grants as received to meet deadlines for return to the granting agency and expedite use of grant funds, with grants to be ratified by the County Commission at the next BOCC meeting. BOCC granted approval to apply for PFC Application 417 on May 17, 2017, which included the FBO Access Road project, approval to advertise a project bid solicitation on July 17, 2019, and approval of original FDOT grant agreement GIQ92 on November 17, 2020.
