On June 16, 1998, the Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) Grant Act of 1998 was siS; (Public Law 105-181). The purpose of the Act is to save the lives of law enforcemen' helping States and units of local government and tribal governments equip their law officers with armor vests.
