Jennifer Hill has been named Employee of the Year, 1999. Ms. Hill and her staffhelp
manage the County's $242 million dollar budget, which includes 56 funds and over 4,000
individual line items.
Mrs. Hill has received praise from almost every department in the County for her
valuable assistance dealing with a myriad of daily accounting and budgeting problems.
Each month, Jennifer and her staff prepare and double check hundreds of budget transfer
requests and BOCC agenda items each year.
Jennifer's analytical skills and business sense have been put to the test in what has
recently proved to be a volatile budgeting environment. Although incorporation efforts
and restructuring of local governments are under way, the County's finances are sound
and the budget reflect solid, careful planning. Mrs. Hill and her staff played a key role in
helping our County's win the Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished
Budget Presentation Award.
Mrs. Hill (a native of Key West) is a valuable asset to Monroe County and deserves our
praise and our thanks for her hard work and dedication to duty. Congratulation to
Jennifer for becoming Employee of the Year, 1999.
