APPARATUS SPECIFICATIONS
CHASSIS - A 2000 GMC TK-31,003 or FORD F-SUPER DUTY, 12,000 pound
minimum GVWR; four wheel drive conversion; two door conventional cab.
Frame - 36,000 psi yield strength formed steel channels; 135" wheelbase; front
and rear tow eyes or hooks.
Bumper - Chrome plated steel front bumper; extended from grille for bumper
turret assembly. Bumper extension to be covered with 125" aluminum diamond
plate.
Fuel System - Minimum 22 gallon fuel tank with 2.2:5" fill opening and electric
fuel pump, floor mounted accelerator pedal and dash mounted manual vernier
throttle with quick release center.
Front Axle - Minimum 4,500 pound capacity front drive and steering axle and
suspension shock absorbers, power steering and left of center steering wheel

Rear Axle - Minimum 8,600 pound capacity rear driving axle, leaf springs, shock
absorbers, automatic limited slip differential.
Load Stabilizers - A rear load leveling kit shall be installed, consisting of two (2)
rubber cushions added to the rear suspension to assist load stabilization and
leveling.
Brakes - Hydraulic power disc/drum brakes with mechanical drive shaft parking
and emergency brake.
Tires and Wheels - Seven (7) L T225175Rx16D steel belted radial tires mounted
on steel disc 16" x 6" steel disc wheels. Spare to be shipped loose.
Drive Engine - Minimum 190 horsepower gasoline powered engine, electronic
fuel injection, horizontally mounted exhaust extended to the right side ahead of
the rear wheels, heavy duty radiator, SO/50 ethylene glycol mixture.
Transmission - Four :peed automatic transmission with water oil cooling system,
looking shift selector in cab, lighted for night operation.

Transfer Case - Heavy duty, front drive disconnect, two range transfer case
with manual control convenient to driver for engagement.
Steering - Power hydraulic with full tilt steering wheel.
Cab - Two door, two person, steel conventional cab with safety glass and vinyl
interior trim. Individual bucket seats, gray or tan vinyl. Center switch console
between bucket seats. Details provided at preconstruction. Engraved tag in
cab stating capacity as well as chassis/fire pump fluids and required capacities
of each.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Cab controls include ignition switch, dash lights with
rheostat, compartment light switch.
Instrumentation includes: Tachometer, speedometer, odometer, oil pressure
with light and alarm; water temperature with light and alarm: voltmeter; fuel
level; hazard switch; water tank level; foam tank level. Applicable duplicate
instruments supplied for the pump drive engine.
i Equipment includes: Backlit emergency switches with integral circuit
breakers, toggle type fire system switches.
Apparatus body and added equipment wiring: Shall be installed per SAE J-1
128 with color coding and function imprint evenj three inches.
Other - Front mounted, single faced, amber type turn signals; halogen
headlights, clearance and rear stop/tail/back up lights per DOT requirements.
Alternator - 12 volt, 145 amp alternator with voltage regulator and belt drive.
Batteries - Two (2) 600 CCA 12-volt batteries, 12-volt system mounted in a
ventilated area, accessible for checking. On-board 8 amp automatic charger
with 11 O-volt shore line connection.
Radios One (1) ICOM A-200M radio and antenna installed, One (1) Motorola
Maxtrac 300 radio and antenna installed.
One (1) Auto eject shore line connection.

LIGHTING AND WARNING EQUIPMENT: Federal Signal PA300 (no substitute)
electronic siren with P A system and one 100 watt speaker at front bumper.
Whelen Edge mod.el930B (no substitute) light bar with two (2) red strobes each
side outboard and four (4) clear strobes inboard, (2) two clear facing forward,
(2) two amber to the rear. Red, clear and amber strobes shall be individually
switched.

One (1) 12-volt compartment light in each enclosed compartment, with master
switch in cab and individual switches.on each door.
Two (2) 12-volt lights in the engine compartment.
Two (2) 12-volt lights in the pump compartment, adjacent to pump access doors.
One (1) 12 volt electric back up alarm, mounted at rear of apparatus.
Two (2) Whelen 64 series rear tail lights, one each side. Each to be a three

BODY: Bead form reinforced welded aluminum or stainless steel body with
extruded aluminum or heavy formed stainless channel frame. Body provided
with convenient access doors to dry chemical agent system, pump and pump
drive engine.
Top deck supplied with safety handrails and perforated, raised non-slip
aluminum or stainless decking with swing down rigid step access ladder at rear,
ground level access for dry chemical system nitrogen cylinder at rear side.
Eauipment Compartments: Four (4) large enclosed equipment compartments
enclosing 61 cubic feet for ancillary fire fighting equipment. All compartment
doors should be roll-up type.
Handrails. A total of four (4) ribbed aluminum or stainless steel rails provided
at top and rear walkways.
WATER/FOAM TANK 300 gallon capacity. Constructed of 1/2" polypropylene
shell properly baffled with top hatch. For each fluid; 1/4" mesh screen and
maintenance free design; flexibly mounted; integral 40 gallon capacity foam cell.
~Lifetime warranty for the water/foam tank provided by the tank manufacturer.
APPARATUS FINISH:
Cab interior: Shall be black vinyl with black rubber f1oormat.
Cab and body exterior: Shall be acrylic urethane high gloss enamel. Paint colors
to be lime green with gold reflective lettering and stripe outlined in black. Stripe
to be trimmed with black acrylic paint and gold reflective striping.
Letterina: KEY WEST INTL AIRPORT ENG. 2 twelve to sixteen inch (12" 16")
reflective letters, with painted acrylic trim to be applied as directed by purchaser.
Undercoatina: Ziebart or equivalent rustproofing applied to cab and cab doors.
Coroseal or equivalent sealant applied to apparatus underbody.

)PUMP: Single stage centrifugal, separate engine driven pump with non-
adjustable mechanical seal and light weight, corrosion resistant cast housing,
capacity to be minimum 210 gallons per minute (GPM) at 175 pounds per
square inch (PSI). Pump to be Hale or Waterous brand with no exception.
Pump drive engine to be minimum 50 hp, four cycle, four cylinder, water cooled
gasoline engine, ~ntrolled from the cab with appropriate gauges and controls
in a console between the driver and forward passenger.
PLUMBING: Stainless steel and- flexible high pressure hose plumbing
throughout with clamp and seal type removable connections.
One (1) 2.5" water tank fill, rear mounted, with check valve and plug.
One (1) 4" tank to pump line for flooded suction operation.
One (1) 1.5" gated water tank drain with cap.
One (1) 1.5" gated foam tank drain with cap.
One (1) 1" x 100' preconnected 60 GPM twinned rubber hose reeled handline
)and Williams Fire & Hazard Hydrochem (no substitute) nozzle. Dry chemical
discharge to be five (5) pounds per second.
DRY CHEMICAL SYSTEM: Nitrogen expelled 450 pound capacity dry chemical
system for potassium based chemical. Actuation and dry chemical turret
discharge controlled from the cab. 'Reel discharge controlled at reel. One (1)
300 cubic foot nitrogen cylinder mounted for changing from the ground in a rear
storage compartment.
One (1) spare 300 cubic foot cylinder to be provided Dry chern system shall be
filled with extinguishing agent, siliconized Purple K, and nitrogen upon delivery.
FOAM PROPORTIONING SYSTEM: Automatic around the pump (ATP) type
foam proportioning with metering port for each form outlet. One (1) 0 to 10
scale refractometer with impact resistant case.
TURRENT: Remote power operated, Akron Commander nozzle (no substitute),
bumper mounted with integral dry chemical barrel and cab interior joystick
control.
