ROBERT W. WOLFE, CHIEF ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY
Rob Wolfe began his employment with Monroe County on May 28, 1985. His
departmental duties include advising department heads and the County Administrator on
legal issues; drafting ordinances, resolutions, opinions and correspondence for the County
Attorney, and overseeing the County Attorney's office operations when the County Attorney
is absent or attending BOCC meetings, hearings, etc.
Rob also attends meetings at which County staff is in need of representation by the
County Attorney's office and drafts and approves County contracts.
Rob's abilities, skills and knowledge are routinely demonstrated in handling and
resolving extraordinary situations that are often unique to Monroe County, Rob makes every
effort to inform and educate County staff on the legalities of contracts and County code,
The County Attorney has received numerous calls regarding Rob's outstanding
performance in the way he handles the numerous legal problems facing the County. He
received Employee of the Month recognition in April 1998. Rob is a familiar sight to early
risers in Key West, where he typically runs 8 to 10 miles each morning before work, His
persistence and ability to persevere through extreme conditions is illustrated not only by his
15 years of service as Assistant County Attorney, but also by his having completed ultra-
marathons as long as 50 to 100 miles. Rob is a credit to Monroe County and the caliber of
public service employees of whom Monroe County can be most proud.
