ITEM BACKGROUND: County has had an agreement for a number of years, the last agreement having been executed on August 15, 1995, for the maintenance of street lights in the area of what is now the municipality of Marathon. County is relinquishing responsibility and jurisdiction over County roads, streetlights, and traffic signals in the new City of Marathon. AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT THIS AMENDMENT made and entered into this day of , 2000, by and between the State of Florida Department of Transportation, an agency of the State of Florida, herein called the "Department," and Monroe County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, herein called "County." WHEREAS, the parties hereto did enter into a Agreement on January 30, 1991, which was. later amended on August 15, 1995 to provide for the County to maintain street lights which lie within the boundaries of the new municipality of Marathon; and WHEREAS, the County is relinquishing to the new municipality responsibility and authority over roads situated in the municipal boundaries; now, therefore The following amendment is made to the Agreement dated January 30, 1991 as previously amended on August 15, 1995: 1. Responsibility for maintenance of the street lights shown in Exhibit A shall be deleted from said agreement. 2.
