AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to terminate a Rental Agreement with Pitney Bowes for an
integrated mail processing system, due to lack of funding, effective October 1,2000
ITEM BACKGROUND: At their meeting on July 21, 1999, the Board of Governors approved an
agreement with Pitney Bowes for an integrated mail processing system at $144 .15 per month. The
agreement was for a three (3) year period, contingent upon an annual appropriation by the Board. With the
recently approved agreement with Advanced Data Processing, the Ambulance Billing Office will no longer
be processing the ambulance billing, the mail processing system will not be required after September 30,
2000, and funds will not be appropriated for that device in the Fiscal Year 2001 budget.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOG ACTION: On July 21, 1999, Board of Governors approved an
agreement with Pitney Bowes for an integrated mail processing system, for a three year period, contingent
upon an annual appropriation by the Board.
