AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise for bids for one (1) new tanker truck.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Hurricane Georges identified the need for a fuel tanker truck
able to conduct in-place refueling of equipment, generators, trucks and vehicles. The
tanker truck will permit equipment to keep functioning at the location where it is
operating rather than having to cease work and move, or be moved, to a refueling area,
which will expedite short-term recovery in a disaster. The county requested and
received unmet needs funding from FEMA and the State to cover 87.5% of the
estimated cost of same.
