Dear County Administrator:
This petition is a request for the County to initiate the bidding process for a new guard contract for
the Duck Key Security District.
CONTRACT BID
The current contract with Diamona Security began in January 1, 1999. It was a two year contract
which allowed for the possibility of two one year extensions after December 31, 2000 provided any
hourly Increase was within set limits.
In my communication with Diamond Security they have informed me that they don't feel they can
keep within these limits.
Therefore, this is to inform you that the Security Guard Contract fo
must be put out to bid.
Sincerely,
~~k~

Dear Mr. Buckholtz:
Unfortunately, due to recruiting and retention difficulties associated with your region
we are requesting an adjustment in our billing rate to allow us to pay our officers a
minimum of $10.00 per hour plus benefits.
Accordingly, this will require an adjustment in our billing rate from $14.14 to $15.34
per hour.
If this adjustment is acceptable please advise, otherwise, this rate will become effective
January 1,2001.
Sincerely,
JJJj:lc
