RE: Agenda Item - Request for Expenditures from Law Enforcement
Trust Fund
Dear Mr. Roberts:
I would like to request that the Commission authorize the following
expenditures from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund: .
$1,500.00 This amount will assist the Cuban/American Heritage
Organization with pedestrian safety improvements and exterior
lighting for the Jose Marti monument restoration project.
$ 2,290.00 This sum will be given to the American Youth Soccer
Organization Region 901 (Big Pine Key, Florida) to assist the
travel all star team with referee fees, player registration, uniforms
and travel expenses incurred participating in the A YSO State
Championship games.
$5,000.00 This amount will be given to The Pigeon Key Foundation to
assist in purchasing a LCD-projector and a sound system for a
program that is being developed to offer ongoing monthly movies
in an "Old Drive-In Movie" style setting for the community. In
addition, they would offer special movie nights for teens and
cartoon nights for the younger children. The equipment that will
be purchased could also assist other community entities for large
meetings and training programs.

$25,000.00 This sum will be transferred t the Monroe County School District
for the current school year. It will be used to fund a variety of
currently unbudgeted programs, each of which has been approved
by Superintendent Michael J. Lannon.
TOTAL: $33.790.00
I hereby certify that these expenditures are lawful pursuant to the Florida
Contraband Act. There will be no recurring expenses in the existing budget. .
