ITEM BACKGROUND: Repairs to the house structure are currently under way. The FEMA
damage report Scope of Work required several wood deck planks that detached from the deck
structure to be repaired. A building inspection for these repairs identified the original ADA ramp
was not code compliant and must now be brought into compliance. The slope of the ramp exceeds
the maximum per code, and the ramp must be replaced in its entirety by a code compliant ramp.

Detailed description of change order and justification:

Limited wood repair of the ADA ramp was included in the original FEMA Damage Description & a)
Dimensions report. Upon inspection of other project items by the building inspector, the current ramp was
found to be non-ADA compliant because it exceeds maximum slope specifications and the handrail is
under the 42 inch minimum height requirement. The ramp needs to be replaced to meet code. The
contractor is requesting a 60 day extension to the current scheduled Substantial Completion date of
0611312021, with a new Substantial Completion date of 0811212021.

The total cost is 1 dollar off...
The summary paragraph amount is$78,416.19 and the cost breakdown adds to$78,417.19. When corrected
we can add it to our summary sheet and send it back to you to sign.
Also,this needs BoCC approval. Best case scenario is that it will make it on the April 21, 2021 board meeting
and get approved. Then you should get an executed copy a few days after that. Will your 50 additional days be
enough, or will you need more to compensate for the processing time of board approval?

Please find attached our Proposal to Rebuild the ADA Ramp at the Blue Heron Park
House. Keep in mind, this price includes credits for the 1x6 Horizontal Rails,
Aluminum Grab Bars and Exterior Paint that was originally included within our
Contract. I've also included the Cost Breakdown as before to help prevent any
confusion. Lastly, I've attached the estimate from Campbell Engineering for this
design work.
Overall, we are expecting the following timelines:
. 4 weeks for Approval of Change Order CD
• 3 to 4 weeks for Engineering
. 3 to 4 weeks for Permitting
• 5 to 6 weeks to Rebuild the ADA Ramp 0
Depending on how fast we get approval, we may need to add 50 days to our
contract (changing substantial completion from June 13th, 2021 to August 2nd, c?
