Item R3 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF COUNTY ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN that on Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at 3:00 PM at the Key Largo Library, Tradewinds Shopping Center, Key Largo, Monroe County, Florida, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, intends to consider the adoption of the following County ordinance: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTlON 6-57(b), MONROE COUNTY CODE, REQUIRING SIGNS PLACED ON CONTRACTORS' VEHICLES TO BE PERMANENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION INTO THE MONROE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTlVE DATE Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, notice is given that if a person decided to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at such hearings or meetings, he will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, Copies of the above-referenced ordinance are available for review at the various public 'ibraries in Monroe County, Florida, Dated at Key West, Florida, this 22nd day of January, 2001 (SEAL) DANNY L. Sec. 6-57(b), Monroe County Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: (b) Contractors conducting thcir contracting within Monroe County any business recuirinc a certificate of comoetency or state recistration within ~10nroc County shall identify all vchiclcs have orominently disolaved on each side of each vehicle used in thc furthcrancc of thcir busincss by usc in thc to transport~ ef materials, equipment or employees to a job site, excepting a vehicle owned by an employee which vchiclc is and only used for private transportation or in carrying employees' personal tools and personal equipment necessary to fulfill their job tasks, by placing on the sides thereof identification of the contractor by trade nameL afl6 tRetf certificate number,(and business street address. or. if there is none. the resident street address of the oerson owninc or ooeratinc the business~in a size no less than three (3) inches, excepting those vehicles rented or leased by a contractor from a commercial vehicle rental agency for a period of less than one (1) month and such vehicles are plainly marked with the name of the lessor in a size which is easily readable. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or provision of this ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict, cS\"l Section 4. The provisions of this ordinance shall be included and incorporated in the Code of Ordinances of the County of Monroe, Florida, as an addition or amendment thereto, and shall be appropriately renumbered to conform to the uniform numbering system of the Code, Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Florida that this ordinance has been filed with said Office.
