AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise a Request for Bids to purchase runway and
taxiway paint striping equipment for the Marathon Airport.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) runway marking standards were
revised in 2000. Marathon airport received a deficiency during the annual inspection for not meeting
the standards. The markings are faded and could create a maneuvering hazard. Cost of the
equipment is eligible for FAA funding in PFC application # 5. Purchase of equipment will allow county
to reduce pavement marking costs in the future.

3-15-00
