Advisory Board to allocate Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) Funds for
Juvenile Drug Court.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Monroe County has accepted LLEBG grant awards for the past
four years and used the funds the first year to enhance courthouse security and the
three following years for Juvenile Drug Court. Summary report for year ending 9/30/00 is
attached.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Approval of grant applications, contracts, and
Substance Abuse Policy Advisory Board recommendations in prior years. Acceptance of
grant award at November 2000 meeting.

counseling, and drug testing.

• Short-term treatment facilities: Children's Shelter, Care Center for Mental Health, Guidance
Clinic of the Middle Keys, Guidance Clinic of the Upper Keys, DePoo Psychiatric Unit.
Ancillary services provided for juvenile drug court clients and their families included:
• ArtWorks
• Boys and Girls Club
• University of Miami Nutrition Program
