! RE:
Monroe County Board of County Commissioners
Harold Wheeler, rDC Marketing Director
District Expenditures For Beach and Beach
Park Facilities
The State Statute Enabling Act states that in counties of less than 100,000
population, no more than ten (10) percent of the revenues from the tourist
development tax in that annual year may be used for beach and beach park
facilities improvements. Some districts have reached the ceiling.
The rDC at their meeting of February 14, 2001 moved to approve that each
district shall not exceed 10%, funding of beach and beach park facilities
based on the district's three penny bed tax revenue from the previous fiscal
year.
The rDC requests that the Board of County Commissioners approve same.
