DEBBIE FREDERICK
APRIL 2000 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
2000 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
Debbie Frederick, Executive Administrator to the County Administrator, was
selected as the April, 2000 Employee of the Month. The nomination came from her
coworkers in other parts of the County government, a clear recognition that she has had a
positive impact throughout the Administration.
Ms. Frederick was employed by the County in June of 1987 as a Program
Specialist in the Nutrition Program operated by the Social Services Department. Prior to
that time, she served for five years as a Warrants Clerk in the Records Division of the
Sheriff's Department. Ms. Frederick spent nine years with the Nutrition Program and
then was promoted to be the Aide to the County Administrator in August of 1996. She
recently celebrated 20 years of service to Monroe County citizens.
Ms. Frederick has redefined many aspects of the position to maximize the impacts
of her skills. The position certainly requires someone with strong interpersonal skills,
dedication, and tact. She utilizes these in her ongoing relationships with the County
Commissioners and their Aides, the County Divisions and Departments, and the public
with whom she comes in contact. She always portrays a professional, positive image to
all who come in contact with the County Administrator's office and at County
Commission meetings.
Among her many responsibilities are the organization of the County Commission
agendas and meetings, which normally include well over 100 items per meeting. She
controls the Administrator's calendar and is able to parse his time in a manner that it can
be most efficiently utilized.
Ms. Frederick helps to put a very positive face on County government. She is
efficient, affable, a problem solver, and works extremely well with members of the
public. She represents the best attributes of a public employee and brings credit upon
herself, the Administrator's office, and the County government.
The County is fortunate to have such a long term, dedicated and impressive
employee.
