A. Rea. Ins lbr interest in serving cm the Council, Including a .tat nt of guiding .
philosophy regarding numgmicnt and conscrvation of marin c resources.
My reason for interest in serving on the advisory council is based on my bac:kgruund in
conurucrcial Real Estate Development, educational background & as a Marina Owner in
flue upper keys.
The work related experience that is part of each day has taught me that we must prescrvc
and protect our natural marine re-wurcea for this is an important part of our economy in
the Florida Keys.
'!lucre are vast area's of Oceanfront and Day shoreline w, well es
Bay Bottom and the Ocean floor that moat be cleaned up due to the last 100 years of
neglect and disregard ol'the Marine environment. As a Marina owner we are moving
iurwrard to obtain clean Marina status from the state.
We have learned how important the interrelationships between private property owners
a W government agencies are so that logical approach to taws and regulations maybe
accomplished. This Cry -existence between the private & public sector in a smooth &
logical manner will only help in the enhancement mud preservation of our Marine
resources in the Florida Keys.

I believe it is important that the Marina industry be represented on this.council in
the tipper Keys. I grew up on the Hudson River watching and listening to Pete
Srager trying to save this river. Today swimming and fishing are taking place just
10 miles north of New York City and this river has boen preserved. I lived on the
Maine coast where I sailed and commercially fished for many years before
moving to the Florida Keys. I was pelt of many cornmittees in the Marine
Industry in the State of Maine. Now living in the Florida Keys t understand how
important and valtiable the National Marine Sanctuary is to the surrounding
ecosystem. We most also pay close attention to the everglades and its impact on
the ecosystem within the Sanctuary.
