AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Discussion of requiring all new bidders of the Key
Largo/Tavernier wastewater system to include an add-deduct for wastewater
reuse.
ITEM BACKGROUND: As the County has reached its allocated use of potable
water from its Florida City well, it is imperative that we stop this draw
down of our most precious asset, water. All bidders must include as an add-
deduct in their bid for the Key Largo/Tavernier wastewater project, the cost
to stub in to the property line a water reuse pipe.
This water reuse pipe would serve all commercial
properties, parks, hotels, motels, and the medium of U.S. 1 for irrigation
and wash down purposes.
