Re: Permit Transfers
Please find enclosed the one page form for changing the permittee on the DEP mooring field
permit. This is very straight forward. As far as the FFWCC permit goes- my contact in
Tallahassee said that I can just send them a letter requesting the change and they will send a new
permit to the City of Marathon. I haven't been able to get ahold of the ACOE representative yet,
but I'm sure the process is just as simple for them.

Dean Mr. Egbert:
Please be advised that on September 21, 2001, the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida caused to be executed a quitclaim deed to the City of Marathon
for that portion of Boot Key Harbor which was previously owned by the County. Within
the area which was transferred to Marathon was the Boot Key Mooring Field as permitted
under FWC Permit No. 01-021. Inasmuch as the County has transferred its ownership
interest in the mooring field and the contiguous marina, it is desired to transfer the
permit to the City as well.
The County has placed the mooring buoys in accordance with the permit No. 01-021 and
hereby requests transfer of said permit to the City of Marathon. Requests are being
made of the US Coast Guard, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the
US Army Corps of Engineers to transfer their permits to the City as well.
Thank you for your attention to the matter.
Sincerely,
JAMES L. ROBERTS
County Administrator
