AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Update from Bert Bender & Associates Architects, P.A. on the
status of the Gato Building Renovation Project.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Bender & Associates Architects, P.A. is providing the architectural
services, and D.L. Porter Construction is the contractor, for the renovation of the Gato Building.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On March 13, 1997, BOCC approved a contract with
Bender & Associates Architects, P.A. for the services at the Old Navy Commissary Building (Gato
Building). On November 12, 1998, the Board granted approval and authorized execution of a
contract with Cross Environmental Services, Inc. for th~ selective Demolition & Abatement
program (Phase I). On July 21, 1999, the Board granted approval and authorized eXE\j:ution of a
contract with Lodge Construction for the renovation. On February 22, 2000, Lodge Construction
was terminated. On April 19, 2000, the Board granted approval to enter into contract with D.L.
Porter Construction to complete the Gato Building Renovation.
CONTRACT I AGREEMENT CHANGES: No changes to contract.
