The revision to §2.03.A.6 enhances customer service and consistency. They are based on similar policies at many Florida public libraries. These revisions were approved by the Library Advisory Board at their March 2013 meeting. Proposed language: NON-RESIDENTS: Individuals who cannot provide appropriate Monroe County identification may pay a $30.00 annual, non-refundable fee for a library card which entitles them to full borrowing privileges at all Monroe County Public Library locations. A valid, government -issued photo ID is required to register for a non-resident card. Explanation: This revision states the requirement for a valid ID to obtain a membership card. Revision to Library Policy 2.03.A.6 Current language: EXPIRATION OF LIBRARY CARDS: All library cards must be renewed annually, including Institutional Patron cards, which require a new letter of request to be placed on file. There is no charge for card renewal upon its expiration.
